 Local ministries give us the framework to get outside the walls of our building and carry the light into the community as God intends.
Western Carolina Rescue Ministries>> Handy men or women needed. If you like to see projects come together, we have a few gratifying jobs that make our facility more efficient and a lot nicer to look at including:
- Landscape: Pull weeds, rake the yard, clean flower beds, and around building
- Teachers (Trade or academic): crafts, resume building, computer software, etc.
- Discipleship Mentors
- Chaperone for outings
- Serve a meal to the homeless
- Donate clothing
Asheville Pregnancy Support Services>> Volunteers are needed in the following areas of this vital ministry that serves over 2,000 women in crisis situations. Desired skills: Graphic Design; Marketing; Donation Processing; Mailings; Newsletters which go out four times a year; Christmas Cards-writing out; addressing and processing for mailing; Cleaning Center or grounds. The following items are always needed:
- Wal-Mart Gift Cards
- New Baby Clothes (0-24 months)
- New Maternity Clothes
- Baby Furniture
- Baby Formula
Asheville-Buncombe Community Christian Ministry>> Volunteers needed in the Crisis Ministry, Jail Ministry, Women and Children’s Shelter Ministry, Medical Ministry and Thrift Store/Donation Center. Open Arms Crisis Pregnancy Center>> This non-denominational, non-profit organization of committed Christians meets tangible needs of those who find themselves in an unplanned pregnancy within Henderson and Polk Counties. Need help with: clerical, computer and data entry, housekeeping, peer counseling and special projects. Call 828.692-7935.
Athletes Outreach Ministry>> Reaching out to local teams offering meals and events that will reach people in our community for Christ.
The Body>> A street-level ministry and outreach to the hard-core, unsaved and unchurched people of downtown Asheville. Contact Carter Pounders at 828.242-6673. Buncombe Baptist Resource Center>> Partnering with approximately 100 congregations in the Buncombe County area with one thing in common…a commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ, His work and His Kingdom. Celebrate Recovery>> Giving a meal, support and encouragement to weekly attendees seeking to overcome hurts, habits and hang-ups.

Craggy Corrections Center>> Volunteer to help reach these men for Christ. Call 828.645-5315. Defending the Forgotten Orphan Care Ministry>> Defending the Forgotten is a ministry of Biltmore Baptist Church that is committed to being a voice for the orphan. King’s Quilt Ministry>> Volunteer with a group of women from BBC who want to make a difference in the lives of people, especially women and children. For more information, email Marty Hillyer>>.
SPAN>> (Servants Paying Attention to Needs) The objective of the SPAN Ministry is to provide home repairs and small scale remodeling services to BBC members and non-member families/individuals that do not have the financial and/or physical ability to maintain their residences at a safe and livable condition. The ministry will consider a broad range of needs identified by our church staff, lay leadership, members and our partnerships. This ministry also partners with entities such as Eblen Charities and the City of Asheville for the source of some projects. We will utilize information provided by such social service organizations as Meals on Wheels, Home Care Nursing Services, etc., in also identifying needs within the community.
Cook and Play Ministry>> Cook and Play minsistry is for women to learn how to cook healthy and efficiently in quantity and freeze for convenience. We're learning about shopping, saving and cooking God's way without food additives. In return, we share the playing responsibilites with our children. Children of all ages interact with one another during play sessions and serve Christ through nutritious cooking.
