Prayer for Our Nation!

If my people, which are called by my name shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. -2 Chronicles 7:14

Our country is facing desperate times. And desperate times call for desperate prayer!

Our prayer is that you will be blessed as we pray together in repentance, and lift up the needs of our nation; asking for God’s divine plan and purpose for the United States.

You may choose to pray and fast>> for our nation’s leadership and our economy.

And Prayer for our City and Country

Pray for God’s touch on the city of Asheville and Buncombe County.
Pray for God’s direction for Mayor Terry Bellamy and Commissioner David Gantt as they give leadership to the city and county.
Pray for the people of our city and county government and community agencies to recognize the authority of God in their decisions and plans for this area.
Pray for the Christians to show the love of Jesus to the people of the area – that Christians will be the salt and light they are called to be.
Pray for the churches in the area to have a renewed vision of reaching the people in our community who have not experienced the love of Jesus - to reach them in love with the message that “God loves you!”

Prayer Prompts for our Nation

First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. Pray for President Obama’s relationship to God.

That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. Romans 10:9-10 (NIV)

Pray for the safety of President Obama and his family.

But let all who take refuge I you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you. Psalm 5:11 (NIV)

Pray for wise counsel to surround President Obama.

Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but blessed is he who keeps the law. Proverbs 29:18 (NIV)

Pray for President Obama to serve with integrity and to stand up for truth.

He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from his heart and has no slander on his tongue, … Psalm 15:2-3a (NIV)

Pray for God’s protection over the United States, our troops, our citizens, for peace in the world, for wisdom and courage in our leaders.

And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men, for not everyone has faith. But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you from the evil one. 1 Thess. 3:2-3 (NIV)

Pray for God to raise up righteous leaders to rule in our nation.

The path of the righteous is level; O upright One, you make the way of the righteous smooth. Yes, Lord, walking in the way of your laws, we wait for you; your name and renown are the desire of our hearts. Isaiah 26:7-8 (NIV)

Pray boldly, pray fervently, pray consistently, pray without ceasing…

Be joyful always, pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thess. 5:17 (NIV)
