Mike was born and raised in Charlotte, NC. He attended college at Lees McRae Junior College, Banner Elk, NC; UNC-Greensboro and Wingate University, Wingate, NC. He received his Master of Divinity degree at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. In 1982 Mike married RossAnn, also a native of North Carolina. Mike was with Campus Crusade for Christ where he served as chaplain and player for the Athletes in Action Basketball Team from 1982-1984. In 1984, he became the youth minister at Calvary Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, NC, where he served until 1991. Mike was then called to First Baptist Church, Orlando, where he served as Assistant Pastor of Adult Ministry until God called him to Biltmore Baptist Church in January 2003. Mike and RossAnn have two sons, Michael and Myles.
