Status of Phase IIa Design and Construction as of July 8, 2010

1.  Children’s Worship & Activities Building (Backlot): 
We broke ground on this building in February 2009.   Children’s Worship (AMP) and AWANA began in August 2009.  God is currently using this new building to minister to over 300 children per week.  In November, Upward Sports used this facility for 134 basketball players and cheerleaders; basketball camp this summer was a great success.

2.  Clearing, Grading, Drainage, Erosion Control and Interim Fields:
Multi-use fields have been constructed by extensive grading of what has been unusable land near Clayton Road.  Fields opened for play in September, 2009.  Upward Sports had 12 flag football teams & cheerleading teams utilizing the fields in the fall; participation in these teams was double last year’s.  This spring, 258 kids ages 4 to 13 played Upward soccer on the fields.

3.  Preschool, Children & Student Security & Renovation Upgrade:
Preschool and children areas have been revamped to create a welcoming atmosphere.  The youth area is now complete.

4.  Second Left-Turn Lane Connection to DOT Work:
An additional lane has been added at our main entrance and on Clayton Road to allow us to tie in to the scheduled DOT work and help alleviate our traffic challenges here at Biltmore Baptist.  Final DOT project completion for all work on I-26, Long Shoals Road and Clayton Road is contractually due by the third quarter of 2010.
